I really enjoy this little timer. It takes no power to run. It can be placed anywhere--even near you when you leave the cooking area as a reminder to go back. It is loud, but not startling. It's attractive and a bit pricey for the purpose. Design is what you are paying for. I'm certain there are cheaper things that do the same thing, but I haven't seen one that fits my décor as well.
