Drys boots but hope the control panel betterThis is a great lil boot dryer it's perfect for drying my boots after a good day riding my snowmobile and is great for my shoes when they get wet as well money well spentWorks great!!! I never thought I would need something like this, but it really comes in handy!For years I’ve been air drying my shoes when I get caught out in the rain. Sometimes if I get really soaked, it can take 2-3 days before all the dampness is gone. Now that I have this, I don’t think I can be without it. I put my soaked shoes on this and came back 2 hours later and they were completely dry and ready to go. This is perfect for the frequent wet humid weather we get where I live.The last boot dryer i bought for my hubbies boots smelled up the whole house when it ran. The fan would kick on and heat up the boots and the smell would go everywhere. It was so gross. But this boot dryer has a special technology to eliminate odors and it actually works. My husband is a mechanic, welder and yard enthusiast so you can imagine how dirty and wet and sweaty his boots get sometimes. Love this boot dryer. It does what it says its going to and have had no issues with it so far. Great product.I just received my order and have used it 3 times so far. I hated having to dry my shoes in the dryer or put them outside to dry them off. But with this I can leave it on for 1 hour and they are completely dried. I wash a pair of boots and those took roughly 45 minutes to dry. I washed 2 pair of sneakers and it took 1 hour each pair. I’m satisfied with my order. Thinking of ordering another one so I can dry my shoes quicker.I can’t believe how well works this SUNFOOT Foot Dryer! It was super easy to put together and basic features make it easy to use.Once connected, the default setting is at « Sterilize », which is the settings we use for helmets, boots and gloves. It uses ozone to refresh and kill bacterias causing odors. Believe me, we need that! ?It’ll go with light wind for 5 minutes then heat for 20minutes, but we adjusted it for 10/10min instead. All settings are adjustable.It says in the instructions not to use ozone if rubber is present, unsure why.Really handy device for multiple uses. We’re highly satisfied!If you've ever had the pleasure of working outside day after day, you know that when your boots get wet, one of your main priorities when you get home is to get them completely dry for the next day. Putting on damp boots in the morning is a really bad way to start your day, especially in cold weather.My coworkers and I all came up with various ways to achieving this. The most common way is to place your boots upside down on a heater that's blowing hot air. This is easier said than done since it's hard to get your boots to balance in that way. This is especially true with steel toe safety boots that are significantly heavier toward the toe of the boot. Even if this is done perfectly, depending on how wet your boots were to begin with, they don't always get 100% bone dry by the morning.As you can imagine, it would be very demoralizing to slip on your boots in the morning to find that they are still damp.This boot drier solves ALL the issues listed above to the point where I would classify it as a "must have" if you're doing any significant work in the outdoors and have to wear safety boots. Balancing your boots isn't an issue since the tongues extend into your boots and hold them in the upside down position easily. Those same tongues blow hot air right into the inside of the boot reaching much further than can otherwise be done just with a regular heater. I found that this produces significantly better drying performance.It's easy to setup and use. Often times we work "out of town" meaning that we stay in a hotel over night. These pack away nicely, meaning that you can easily take them with you in a bag if you happen to be working in a remote area.I have been using these to keep my boots bone dry over the last month or so and it's been working wonderfully. It reduces odor as well since bacteria don't have a chance to grow if the inside of the boot isn't damp. Overall, I would definitely recommend it. It would work for shoes, socks, and gloves as well. Perfect for both the winter and the summer.The SUNFOOT does a good job drying footwear (and other items) but I have an issue with the claims made regarding sterilization with the use of Ozone, the term used on the packaging and the Owner’s Manual (or “active oxygen” used in the product listing). The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says this regarding the use of ozone for sterilization:“ Ozone is a gas that can be used to kill harmful bacteria. However, for ozone to be effective in killing harmful bacteria, it must be present at a concentration far greater than what is considered safe for humans.”I’m curious what concentration of ozone this product is utilizing in order to “sterilize” our footwear during use of this device. To be safe, as mentioned in the Owner’s Manual, do not use this product while in close proximity and use only in a well-ventilated area.So aside from this sterilization claim, this unit does a good job at drying footwear/gloves etc.. I like the fact that there isn’t a power button, just place your footwear on the holders and if plugged in it will automatically turn on and start the drying process. Just make sure that you put the correct posts on their corresponding sides…left on left and right on right (there’s an ‘L’ or an ‘R’ on the chip inside the posts).I also like that you can adjust the drying temperature manually from 105-160 degrees Fahrenheit and the drying duration fro 0-99 minutes.I just think I will be manually adjusting the sterilizing time to zero until I learn more about the concentrations of ozone utilized by this device.I decided to get this since whenever it rains heavily, I sometimes have socks that are soaked as well as shoes which are soaked.The device comes in an unsealed box. Opened up the box and removed it. Despite the box not being sealed, the device seemed to be new/unused. I read through the manual and it mentions that it uses ozone and the dangers of ozone inhalation and what ozone can be used for (sterilization).Plugged it in and it immediately turned on. Personally I would prefer that it worked with an on/off switch and not start automatically when it is plugged in. I know that it is can sense shoes and automatically turn on but as mentioned, I would prefer to have an on/off switch. Pushing the + and - buttons at the same time will stop the device or start the device but it doesn't stop immediately (like an on/off switch would) and would stop or start after a few seconds of pushing the 2 buttons together.The temperature control is by Fahrenheit without any way of changing it to Celsius. I alternate between the metric system and imperial system depending on what I'm referring to for example for weight, I'm used to the imperial system but for temperature, I'm used to the Celsius scale.Used the device for my wet socks and it seemed to do a good job at drying my socks with the default 20 minutes and default temperature. I did reduce the sterilization time from 5 minutes to 2 minutes since I was worried about the "ozone" factor and I was using this device in an unoccupied room but the windows of the room weren't open because of the outside temperature as well as it being raining outside.The auto start/stop didn't seem to work with my unit. After it came to a stop and I put a different pair of shoes in it to dry, it didn't start automatically.The two shoe/glove holders fit both ways (left holder can go into right holder and vice versa and they can also be put in so the front is the back and the back is the front) into the opening but they are only meant to go in one way because of chip contacts on the bottom of the shoe/glove holders which are supposed to come into contact with an area in the openings where the she/glove holders sit. In my opinion, they should have made these shoe/glove holders so that it is impossible to insert them the wrong way.The easiest way of explaining this is a battery cover for a device or a microUSB/miniUSB cable; this battery cover can only fit one way as can a microUSB/miniUSB cable into a device.
