Previously had a Timex Ironman watch with LED numbers set against a dark background. It was very hard to read the time in normal light. This Timex Expedition has a very bright display with the black numbers against a light background. The contrast makes it very easy to read the time in all light conditions. I like the all black look. Plan on replacing the rubber band with a Nato band once it wears out.
