It did what it's supposed to do, but this part never should have worn out. It will need to be replaced again in a few years but better than buying a whole new machine.Good priceParts arrived in a couple days, I ordered both parts knob and back plate as I wasn't sure if I needed both the teeth on my old knob were broken see picture #1 and new knob with lots of new teeth #2 and completed replacement #3 Clip is included with knob for those who might wonder Replacement was so easy took maybe 5 -10 minutes Unplug washer, pull knob out as if you were choosing load type , behind the knob is a small white plastic clip that holds the knob in place , take a small screw driver and gently slide off the small plastic clip, knob will release so you can pull it straight off shaft Keep in mind which direction knob was turned so you can line it back up when replacing , then gently pull the larger white circular plate, off shaft , keep in mind the position so you can put it back on the same position as removed so the teeth line up While I had plate off I took a paper towel and wiped off 10 year of accumulated dust around shaft Then placed the new circular plate on the shaft making sure to line it up as the old one came off , if you look closely you can see where the teeth of the new knob with fit in to this plate around the bottom of the shaft Place the knob back on the shaft in the same direction as the old knob came off , the next step is a little tricky putting the clip behind the knob, the space is very small behind the knob and the plate You may need a flash light as its hard to see Hold the clip between thumb and index finger Gently slide the clip on the shaft behind knob , after I go the clip on the shaft I gently pushed the flat edge of screwdriver against the edge of clip making sure it locks into place Now gently push the knob down to select a load type You're done !!!! This was my 2nd repair to my GE washer first was pressure valve and plastic line over flow line ( got those parts thru amazon too Thank Amazon !!! I really enjoyed completing both repairs and it saved me about $500 -$600 as hubby wanted to buy another washer instead of repair I'm a senior and fixed it myself Hope this review helps others My camera wasnt very clear in taking picturesThe cycle selector knob on our GE washing machine (model #WHDSR109J5WW) finally broke after about 13 years. It is a poor design on GE's part. I found the exact part I needed on Amazon and ordered it on the 20th. It arrived on the 23rd! I had watched a few Youtube videos on how to replace the knob and it went without a hitch. So very thankful for Amazon! Was easy to replace. Didn't seem like the teeth to turn the knob is robust. But then again the original wasn't either. Our clothes washer timing unit (I guess that is what it is called) broke and we could not use the machine. My husband went to an appliance parts store and was quoted twice what this part cost us at Amazon. That is not the real issue, because neither price was very much. However, we were able to order the part from Amazon, got it very quickly, and it allowed my husband to use it to figure out how to repair the washer for very little cost and no inconvenience. The repair saved us hundreds of dollars. If this had not worked, there was an additional part we might have had to buy that the appliance parts store quoted the price of $162.00. It only cost $104.00 on Amazon. We would have ordered it if we had to.I noticed that the Cycle and Spin/Speed Combinations knob on my washer was basically spinning freely. After some inspection, I was able to find the clip that was holding the old knob in place and remove the knob. I was able to purchase this genuine OEM part to replace it.The part comes with the knob and a replacement clip to hold it in place. My one gripe about this listing is that it doesn't show the back of the knob or the fact that it comes with the clip. This knob has teeth on it. It is not one of the D-shaped knobs that you use to select load size or water temperature. People are giving this a negative rating because the picture and descriptions are crappy even though the part number is correct.I have included pictures for future shoppers. The first two pictures are of my new knob. The third picture shows how worn down the old teeth were.Easy to install and great priceIt’s exactly as good as describedperfect fitIt was the identical replacement part.everything good. amazon had the cheapest replacement dial. it's hard to get excited over a very expensive piece of plastic.exactly as indicated
