Replaced old mechanical timer with this model to (hopefully) prevent freeze damage to pool lines. Last two winters were brutal, so we had to leave the pump on nearly the entire winter. Talk about a big waste of electricity and money! The install took maybe 15 minutes, very easy. Remember, if your running 240V and you don't have a neutral wire on the line side, tie the timer neutral to your ground. I tested it by putting a few ice cubes in a bag and placing it against the thermostat, ta-da, worked perfectly.
