It came as ordered, but is not at all loud. You have to be hovering over it to hear it.This may work best for an independent timed task where a low volumed timer is preferred.For me, I would not get it again. I need my class to hear the timer go off for transitions between tasks.This item looks cool in the picture but actually looks cheap in person. The white circle is thicker and rounder than the green portion wherein the picture it looks flat. Also, when I went to put the item on my whiteboard it immediately slipped down to the bottom. The magnet is not strong enough to hold it in place. However, even though the timer itself does work, I will be buying a different kind since the whole reason why I wanted it was because it was magnetic.2 years later: This timer erases any time function after putting it against a flat surface and the alarm does not work. =[Great tool for the classroom.Poorly made
