From the Manufacturer The Maestro Countdown eco-timer Switch is a simple way to save both energy and money. This switch makes sure that your light or fan is never inadvertently left on. After the light or fan is turned on, a timer begins. After a pre-set time, the light or fan will be automatically turned off. The timer can be set to turn off between 1 to 30 minutes. LED lights indicate approximately how much time that is left by lowering every five minutes. There will be a final warning made by the LEDs when there is just 1 minute left before the lights or a fan will be turned off. You may also use the rocker switch to adjust the countdown to your desired time limit or add more time during the light or fan’s use.

put them in all the bathrooms and they work great. look good and give a lot of timer optionsuse for my new bathroom fan, perfect!I bought this product to auto shut off a bathroom exhaust fan. I bought a good quality, low decibel fan and hooked up the switch. However, buried in the fine print of the instructions is a minimum current draw of 0.3 amps. The fan starts slowly to keep the noise down and does not draw enough current during startup. So the switch just shuts off the fan and then blinks to indicate an error. Bottom line is that I can’t use it with a new bathroom fan, which was the whole point. The packaging lists that as a specific use for the product. This poor design given modern, low power applications like LEDs and quiet motors. The maximum current draw is printed on the front of the package. The minimum requirement for operation should be there too.I think to avoid this problem with similar switch products and use cases, I’m going to get a timer switch with a neutral wire.Installed to control a bathroom fan/light. Unfortunately, LED light alternates between two brightness levels. Disconnecting light may be acceptable in some locations, but not all. This timer works great for my ceiling fans. I have two of them and purchased a third for the last fan in the house. It arrived and did not work. I sent it back for a replacement, and it behaved exactly the same. I contacted Lutron with the description of my problem and my fan model (Panasonic model FV-08VK3 WhisperGreen). Their response is that my fan consumes too little power ... this fan draws only 7W of power. The minimum power requirement for this timer is 40W, according to Lutron.Although I love these timers for my other fans ... BEWARE THAT YOUR ELECTRICAL LOAD MUST BE 40W OR HIGHER FOR THIS TIMER TO WORK. If you have a lower load, you must use the MA-T51MN, which only requires 5W to operate.Do the timer job w/o problem and easy to operate, but kind of pricy . Especially compare with the Lutron occupancy sensor that is much rich in functionality and can be programmed for similar purpose (e.g., using the occupancy sensor, you can disable auto-switch on & sets how many minutes to switch off after vacant the space).I purchased 3 T530G (actually 2 initially but ends up purchased a 3rd see below), one of them is defective out of box, the defective one show no sign of life.Lutron is pretty generous to offer replacement with return shipping label. But somehow, the initial customer service people delayed entering the replacement order into its system for many days (so later call they could not find the case for quite some days), I have to made 4 calls and an email plus some confusion back and forth on Lutron side, took totally 23 days to resolve the service, kind of tarnished the otherwise excellent service. After 2+ weeks of waiting w/o getting replacement, I actually purchased another one for my bathroom urgent need. The first picture shows a 60-minute option for the timer, but the actual product only goes up to 30 minutes. This should still accomplish what I wanted for my bathroom fan, but there's a lot of moisture that accumulates and no window, so I wanted to run the timer for an hour after each shower. I am definitely annoyed to see that the actual product allows only for a maximum of 30 minutes when I was expecting twice that (as advertised). In the future, please use accurate pictures and product descriptions so customers are accurately informed prior to their purchase.*UPDATE* I just installed the switch and discovered that it is ONLY a timer. Perhaps I took for granted that a unit like this would also have an always on option (like every basic analog timer I've ever owned). But this thing is JUST a timer, which means it will shut off after the maximum 30 minutes (lame), so if your bathroom ritual is longer than that, this is NOT for you.Perhaps I wouldn't be so harsh or infuriated, but not only (as you'll see from my earlier review) does one of the posted pictures show a 60 minute option for the timer, but now I see that it also shows a constant on option there, too!! The 60 minute thing, AND the constant on were must-haves for me, and the picture clearly shows it, while the actual product does not have it. In case the devious seller changes the picture, I've included a screenshot current as of this time, as it was when I purchased it, with the incorrect item. There is also a picture of the actual item I received...notice there is neither a 60 minute or constant on option....DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I'm very pleased with this switch. I found most of the timer switches to be rather ugly and overly complex. The look of this matches other toggle lights, blending into the decor. The switch is also intuitive to use for guests. The timer lights up orange, matching the other in-switch lighting I have in the bathroom. The product I received was a MA-T530G-WH which has a max 30 min timer NOT the pictured 60 min + ONI decided to keep it and it works great form my purposes.1 Star because Lutron has made it so difficult to tell that you cannot use this with LED or CFL lights. Found similar complaints in other reviews.Easy to use.Excellent for older houses
