Our story How we got our start Hi, I’m Gary. Gymboss Timers started in 2001 due this one simple thought I had while working out in my home gym – “There must be an easier and more accurate way to time my rest between sets”. From this one spontaneous thought came Gymboss, which started very humbly in my basement in Michigan, USA. What makes our product unique Our timers are small, durable and versatile. What started as a simple weightlifting timer is now used by people all over the world for run walk run programs, HIIT workouts, interval training, yoga, boxing, and the list goes on. If it is timed exercise, there is a Gymboss model to time it. Why we love what we do We love that we have created simple to use, fairly priced, multipurpose timers that can be used for so many different parts of life – exercise and workouts, cooking, naps and more. Also, we are a small, tight knit, friends and family run company who genuinely care.
The miniMAX is an advanced model, designed for timing extremely complex interval programs consisting of more than 2 different intervals. If your program only has 1 or 2 different intervals you DO NOT NEED THIS MODEL. Due to the nature of complex intervals this timer is harder to setup than the Classic or Plus model Gymboss and requires more patience to learn how to use it. If you do purchase this model, we do have printable, expanded instructions on our website help page.
Compact, advanced interval timer tracks up to 25 different intervals between two seconds and 99 minutes. Save up to 20 programs.

Chime and vibration interval notification; alarm duration can be set for one, two, five, or nine seconds.

For use with: HIIT, Cross Fit, Cardio, Weightlifting, Strength Training, Kettlebells, Body for Life, Running, Learn-to-Run, MMA, Boxing, Martial Arts and more.
Was not too difficult to setup the multi interval timer. A little disappointed that this is the only model that function is available. I like the newer models that are rechargeable and are more water resistant but that’s not available with this model. My old stopwatch bit the dust. On it I was able to program an interval and the number of Reps for my daily exercises. I was unable to replace the Watch with another that would do the same thing. Instead I used the interval notice app on Amazon Echo until that stopped working. Then I resorted to manual Counting trying to keep track of intervals and number of reps in my mind. then one day I thought of using the search criteria of exercise timer on Amazon. I came across the gymboss products. I saw that the second level product would do what my old stopwatch did. I immediately ordered the second level gymboss. a bit later I looked at the Minimax gymboss and saw its potential. I immediately cancelled the original order and ordered a Minimax. When it arrived I spent a bit of time using the materials sent with it and the directions that I found online to do the programming for my exercise routines. I was able to program multiple exercises with different intervals and numbers of reps. As the Minimax allows storage of that program as well as leaving it active, it's always there for me when I start my routine. All I have to do is press the start button. I am absolutely delighted with the Minimax. I can't imagine going back 2 my old stopwatch where I had to program each routine with each interval and each number reps.Do I wish there were some other features on the Minimax? Yes. For example I wish the beep at the end of a rep was a single beep rather than the double beep. I suppose the double beep is better for a noisy environment but my environment is quiet. I also wish there was the ability to program a different tone at the end of a routine. But all considered I love this little machine. It's so much easier than my old stopwatch where I had to program each routine with its interval and number of reps. All I have to do is press startI love this interval timer, but it was an absolute chore to figure out how to change a saved program once I had entered it and then later changed my mind and wanted to update it and save again. I asked the question here on Amazon and no one responded, so I'm assuming nobody else has needed to do this (or has figured it out). The instructions indicate you should just go into your saved program, change it to however you want it, and then save it. But it's not that simple, and I exchanged at least a dozen emails or more with the company before realizing how I needed to change it. They were responsive about answering my question in a timely way, but their responses didn't clear up the confusion. So after a bunch of emailing, I had pretty much given up on being able to change an existing saved program. And there is only room on the device for about 20 different saved programs, so you wouldn't want to have to keep creating new ones as you changed your mind about a workout. So here are the details of what I needed to do and how I did it:Let's say you have saved a workout in the Multi category and it has 7 different intervals. Then you change your mind and want to eliminate interval 4 so you'll only have 6 intervals. You can't go into the saved workout and delete interval 4. There is no delete option on this device. Also, the device won't let you set interval 4 to last zero seconds. I tried that and the minimum number of seconds it will allow is 2 seconds. So I thought the best I could do is have a bogus interval 4 that lasted 2 seconds which I would have to ignore. The critical piece of missing information that nobody mentions is that you have to go into the saved workout and RE-ENTER EACH INTERVAL FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END. If you re-enter each interval, you can make intervals 1, 2, and 3 the way you want them, then you make interval 4 look like the old interval 5 looked, and you make interval 5 look like the old 6 looked, and the final interval CAN be brought down to zero seconds. And then you can save it that way and you have essentially deleted interval 4. When you re-save a workout, it overlays the previous version of that workout, so you won't be wasting one of your 20 on a useless workout.I guess I could have rated this unit less than 5 stars because of the terrible instructions and the less-than-helpful email responses, but the unit itself is really great. So I decided to rate it based on that instead. And as others have said here, be sure to print the official instructions you can get from the gymboss website rather than trying to use the terrible instructions that will ship with the unit. Armed with the official instructions and the information I listed above, you should be able to figure out how to enter and update some great workout interval programs. It does exactly what it says, i.e. provide almost unlimited flexibility in programming more complex interval schemes. For circuit training, tabata, fartlek or tempo workouts, this is everything one can ever need, timing-wise.The complaints that it is hard to program are unfair in my opinion. It is true that the flexibility ould be too much for most people (90% of the time, the basic functions suffice). However, for the price, size and the features on offer, the interface is the simplest and sturdiest possible... it takes a few tries, but with a modicum of patience and the mental discipline to work through a list of printed instructions (provided) in an orderly fashion, the problem is far from insormountable.A nice feature is the possibility to select quiet or loud beeps, with or without vibration, to signal the beginning of each interval, just in case someone in the vicinity has sensitive ears.I have been using the 1st/simpler version of the Gymboss for years - seems simple, but there's nothing quite like it - I especially like it for timing stretching routine but also for all sorts of timed exercises. This new version is an improvement because I can now save a whole series of interval programs rather than having to reset the Gymboss each time I want to use a new interval setting (I time different kinds of intervals every day!). As a user of the 1st gymboss, I found this more complex version a bit tricky to program at first - there is a new SET button between the arrow buttons on the top - easy to miss this button because the button strip is all the same colour and it does not look like a button. However once the people at Gymboss told me where to find the SET button (which gives you access to a new menu system that the old gymboss does not have) it is easy enough to set up. Actually, setting it up does take a bit of learning, but it's worth the effort and once learned it's easy. Thanks for the upgrade Gymboss.I absolutely love my Gymboss for Jeffing my runs. Although I can time my run and walk intervals on my watch, the Gymboss allows me to zone out a lot more and not obsess over the stats on my watch. The beep is quite loud. I don't normally have any problem hearing it, the only exception being when it was raining heavily with traffic passing. Moving it closer to my ear (shoulder of bra strap) solved this problem. I couldn't be without it for my runs now.The display is not very clear and some words cannot be read, MENU for instance! The instructions are very poor and it is difficult to work out which buttons do what. That problem is made worse by the fact that you cannot read the display! You'll need excellent eyesight or very strong glasses to read the instructions.Overall, it is a very basic unit but should be ok for basic interval stuff. I'd not have bought it had I known the above in advance and I would not recommend it, to anyone. This little gadget has definitely streamlined my workouts. I used to clock-watch during interval training which noticeably lessened my focus and effort. Now I can fully commit to each interval knowing the alarms will tell me when it's time to rest then begin again. My workouts are definitely more effective and quicker now that I use the Gymboss. I highly recommend this product.
