Product Description

The Woods 59785 Outdoor Grounded 6-Outlet Yard Stake with built in timer with wireless control turns outdoor lights on and off at set times. The photoelectric eye senses the absence of daylight and automatically turns your lights on and then off after a set amount of hours (2, 4, 6 or 8), or off at dawn according to the schedule you manually set. Or use the remote control as a manual override, up to a distance of 60 feet. When it's cold and dark outside, the last thing you want to do is run out to unplug your holiday decorations or turn on your security lights. This four-season timer has a durable construction and the 6-grounded outlets have safety covers. Avoid the hassle of going outside in the bitter cold to turn on or off your holiday lights; instead, manage your lighting preferences from the comfort of your home or car. With a set timer schedule that repeats daily, you can save energy and electricity costs by only turning on decorative lights when needed.

This works great and is a must-have for our (non TV worthy) front lights, Rudolph's Nose, etc lights. This replaced a much older earlier model that finally died.Pro:Remote is more powerful and longer range. I was worried as it didn't have an antenna like the old one - but it was 100% solid on/off/timerTimer - we love the "X hours at sunset" so it comes on and doesn't run all night. Unattended.Power handling and build quality is good.Con:Remote twice as big as the old model. Not horrible but harder to hide in the glass art bowl.Stake always a weak point on all of these. If ground isn't soft recommend pre-holing with something then inserting. All seem to be like this - not just this one.No token shield for sockets. While none (not even my old one) are water proof - this has even less rain shielding on plugged in outlets. Not a huge deal and no issues so far.Advice:All of these photocell units end up susceptible to your motion detector lights coming on - and also possibly car headlights. So for anything like this you can prevent "false sunrise" by pointing away from lights and headlight paths. When I lost a "light shield tree" I just put a small box end over to shade the photocell. Not a knock on this one but for any - prevent "false sunrise" from lights at night.Works great just thought I could set it where I didn't have to turn it on each day with the remote. Just let it be on dust to dawn everyday.Lotsa negative reviews on this product. Please let me share with you something I noticed that made me think something was wrong with it when there wasn't. It is NOT CLEAR in the instructions that if the photocell on the yard stake receptacle is picking up a light source the hourly functions on the remote will not work! In other words, if the unit thinks it is too light outside you can only turn the unit On or Off using the On - Off indicated on the dial on the remote but, it will not turn on with the 2hr, 4hr, 6hr, 8hr functions on the remote unless it thinks it is dark outside. So here I am at early dusk thinking, why doesn't this darn thing work?!! When it just wasn't dark enough outside yet. Also, keep it away from other light sources such as porch lights, street lights, or anything that might fool the photocell into thinking it's still daylight. Anyway, now that I know this I find that it works perfectly fine --- now you know. :)We have this installed at the base of some saguaros, to run the holiday lights. It's nice to have the remote control, and the dusk/dawn feature. However, I'm on my third unit, one having given up the ghost for no discernible reason, and another having stopped listening to its remote. There's a breaker on the back of the unit that pops frequently, and you have to go outside at night and reset it. One thing I do like about it is that its dimensions allow you to cover the entire unit (from rain, etc.) with a 3L soda bottle that you have cut the neck off, because there is no weather protection for the sockets that are in use.The timers don’t work, someIf the outlets don’t work, arrived in a banged up box, replacement arrived with no remote and has same issues as the first one. I do not recommend this product.I bought this to replace a previous one that only lasted two seasons of using it for Christmas lights. I have my lights up for about four weeks, so when you think about how much it was actually used its disappointing, it only lasted two months. But I bought another one because it has 6 outlets (others only have 4) and I love the remote. Not long ago I had to run outside to turn them on and off.I'm using this to power multiple pumps for a water feature in my yard. I use the remote to turn it on and off because the automatic timer operates on a light sensor and turns things on at night and off at daylight, which is the opposite of what I want to do. My only complaint is that if the power to the strip goes out, it resets to the "off" position and has to be restarted from the remote. That probably wouldn't be a problem if you were using the daylight timer. I've been using this for about four months now.I had one already and have loved it, particularly the remote control ability on cold winter days. I ordered another... and got a self contained model with no remote. I'm sure it'll be nice not having to keep track of where the remote went to, but it isn't what I ordered. At first I loved it. I thought why didn’t I buy this before for all my Christmas lights. Then every night the timer came on later and later which drove me nuts because I have 2 other sets of lights on timers outside as well. So now everything was turning on at different times. Then I realized that the sensor that detects darkness was what was messing with it. Even tho I had it set to 6 hours every night. You think it would turn on the exact same time for 6 hours. Guess not. Well i put a piece of tape over the sensor. So let’s see if that works. In theory it should.Lo compre para figuras inflables de jardín. Utilizó el control remoto desde mi casa sin tener que salir por condiciones climatológicas.Tiene un precio muy accesible. This works as described but I had to put tape over the light sensor for it to work with my Christmas lights or it wouldn't turn on. the lights were to bright and the sensor thought it was daytime.Fácilmente se instala, se programó para encender al atardecer y durar 4 horas. Funciona muy bien.Worked exactly as advertised and remote was very easy to operate
