Stays on continuously (Good or Bad?) depends on how you are going to use the timer. CON: It beeps loudly every time the minute or seconds button is pushed (does not have continuous scrolling when the button is held down); to reduce the loudness it is possible to cover the speaker hole on the outside cover with one finger. If I wanted to enter 99 minutes and 59 seconds (the maximum time it will allow to enter) I would have to push the button 99 times for the minutes and 59 times for the seconds; since the timer never turns off, it will hold that entry until the battery would die. I can remove the battery to turn it off. The display is small, it is easy to read when holding it, when I put it on the refrigerator side 4.5 feet high from the floor with a bright light on the ceiling it is more difficult to read due to the LCD to light reflection. The magnet has strong a strong hold on the metal (remember not all stainless steal grades have sufficient fer rite metal mixture to hold onto magnets; in that case a small piece of metal would have to be glued onto the surface)I am a commercial baker and have three of these timers, all between 5-6 years old and they have basically been through war. I switched to this timer because the other brands I used would break when they fall and usually stop working. This timer might have some of the structural parts break when it falls on the hard concrete floor, like the magnet falling off, or the hinge breaking, but the timer has *never* stopped working. Over the years, these has fallen *many* times with the battery flying across the room, but the timer always works just fine as soon as you put the battery back in (not the case with the many other timers I have tried, which often broke with the first drop). This is what I need in a timer when I rely on it so heavily! You can always super glue the magnet on if need be and it will last many more years. I will also say that even though it occasionally falls when I am in a hurry, it falls much less than other timers I have used because the magnet is stronger. It is easy to read, it is loud, and it is reliable. It is just what I need. As long as they continue making this, I will never buy another timer. This is my second one they work beautiful they both work they're simple clean looking easy to read easy to use I just love these the best brand on the market well worth your moneyOK, I really like this but am giving it only 4 stars because IT NEVER TURNS OFF and it's also really loud when setting the timer (details further down). There is no way to turn it off and the display remains on forever, until the battery does depart. Excuse my play on wedding vows. This may be a moot point, since I read in some reviews that the batteries last for years, but that penny pinching side of me wants to be able to turn this off and not waste battery time on unneeded display when not in use. It's smaller than I expected it to be, but it's actually the perfect size for this type of thing. Not too big, not too small. I'm not sure why I expected it to be bigger. I'm attaching a picture of it in my hand. I have large hands. Not like Joy's man-hands, but large nonetheless. This timer counts up (for when you want to see how long a task or a lap is going to take) and it counts down (for when you're baking or needing something to last EXACTLY a certain time). It's very loud. Although if you're concerned about something like that you can certainly clip it to your clothing with the attached clip/magnet/stand thingie and make sure to take it with you if needed. The mentioned clip/magnet/stand is a really nice feature. The magnet is very strong and holds it securely to the fridge but does not make it heavy. It's actually very light. I have no way to weigh it but I'm guessing about 2 ounces, judging from the fact that it feels as heavy as two first class letters each weighing an ounce. The timer stands on its own just fine (picture attached) or you can prop the stand open by lowering the included wire clip (picture of this also attached) and that makes it a "real" kick stand. As mentioned in some other reviews, it's best to use it standing because the speaker is on the back of the timer and if you have it attached by magnet while in use, the sound may be muffled. Is is very simple to use. You can start or stop it using the same button and there's a minute button and a second button which you use to set the timer as needed. You press both of these at the same time to reset to zero. If you need a large number, you can hold down the button instead of clicking repeatedly. That makes it more convenient. I did not like that it beeps loudly while you hold it down. Annoying but not a big deal UNLESS YOU'RE IN THE LIBRARY trying to time something. Best to use your cell phone in that case. It is really loud while setting it for long periods of time (it will beep 99 times if you set it to 99 minutes).Because of display size, you can set the timer for up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds (no, it does not go to 99 seconds).I did contact the company by email to ask if I just missed the shut off feature but did not hear back. I have checked all buttons (there aren't that many) and tried different combinations of pressing them but there is no way to turn the display off when not using it so I don't think it's something I missed. Again, probably not a big deal if the batteries last as long as some reviews state. And opening the battery cover to take out the battery just to turn off the display is not an option. While I didn't find it cumbersome to open, I'm likely to lose the batteries, so in they stay.I also thought it was very nice of the company to include the 2 AAA batteries that it requires. Kudos to them for that.If it had a shut off switch and did not beep each time you advance the time while setting, I'd give it 5 stars. But other than that, a really solid and easy to use timer. This timer is not perfect but it does its job.I like that it runs on one AAA battery. I also really like the buttons and how they respond. However some dislikes are that the screen never shuts down when not in use (unless you remove the battery). I am unsure how this will impact battery life. Also the screen is not that bright so it can be hard to read at the wrong angle. This timer is really loud, that's good if that's what you are looking for. I will say I think It is really annoying when you are dialing the seconds.Noisy beep when setting beep beep beep with everyone asking what's that!! apart from that it's good .Cumple perfectamente con su funcion.Es muy practico para mi cocinaTiene temporizador y cronometro muy facil de utilizar
