I ordered these expecting them to be a generic 555 ic as in the pictures, but I seem to have received actual TI chips. Getting a handful of extra sockets is nice too. You probably won't need one socket for every one of these you use, but 8-DIP is so common it's nice to have on hand. It also came with a little plastic box that was roomy enough to keep the pins from bending unlike some of the other ICs i've ordered through amazon.
