Use these to time things at home and work. Needs a battery, BUT it is silent and reliable. We'll see how long it lasts.As advertised. Good value. Color is as shown. But the beep is a very shrill digital beep. Just FYI. Not sure something can be better… and there is no ticking.We tell our kids to set their timer for a certain number of minutes, and they know when the timer goes off it is time to move on to the next task! It seems to motivate them much more then us just telling them they have so much time left. Plus, it helps the younger ones learn numbers.It is perfectI got this for meeting with kids who struggle to tell time. Some set in on their own and take pride announcing how many minutes are left. Ending on time has become a lot easier. It also beeps 4-5 times once the timer is up so you have both visual and auditory cues. Wish it was a little less expensive or I'd buy several more.This is an amazing timer!!! It is accurate, quiet and highly durable. I love the visual aid to help my son see how much time he has left in a task and though it took him some time to get used to a timer, he loves the visual aid as well. My son has ADHD and frustrates easily. I thought this quiet timer would help his time management. It does now, but when we first used it, he destroyed it into pieces and submerged it into water. I took out the batteries and let it dry out for a day. I put it back together not thinking it would ever work again. This timer STILL WORKS!! It is still accurate and we use it often. He now understands time mgmt better and treats this timer with care. We love it!Easy enough for my daughter to use, perfect for teaching time boundaries.quality product and looks great on the desk.Good construction, not cheap lightweight flimsy plastic. Functions as expected, turn the knob to the desired time and that’s it. Dial has a translucent red indicator to visually show how much time remains. There is a button on the top that will mute the alarm however it’s not needed as the alarm only beeps for a few seconds.The timer was smaller than expected based on the pictures. Is hard to see from across a room however the red indicator does help.I was super excited for this visual timer and liked the look of it compared to others. The main issue I have with is that when set to 60 minutes, it gets "stuck" at 45. My only work around has been setting it to the 20 minute spot for it to actually work.Never got it to work. Tried new batteries, no good.
