This is a fantastic product: realistic (enough) -looking candles that click on and off with a remote, and can be set to a timer for automatic use.I decided a long time ago that I would never buy regular candles again -- too dangerous with kids, too messy, etc., and the artificial light is just as good. But turning candles on and off at the base if you have a lot is a hassle, and without a timer, it is easy to forget to turn them off, which drains batteries quickly, etc. and is its own kind of hassle.The flicker of the candles is very good without being entirely perfect. It gives off a very pretty, warm, realistic light. The imperfection is that, depending on the sequence in which you turn them on with the remote, you can end up with them flickering in tandem, which your brain quickly processes as fake at a subconscious level. But with a little practice, it is possible to get most of them flickering at different intervals. And I have seen much worse (at Pier One, etc.)Finally, I bought multiple sets from this company, and they all work off of each of the remotes, which is a great convenience. Now I have remotes stashed everywhere, and can point any of of them at exactly the candles I want on or off.We use them nearly every night, in conjunction with dimmed lights (tip dimmers are another great, related home improvement!). The degree to which it has made our lives more beautiful is amazing, all with such simple and reasonably inexpensive purchases. There is nothing quite like having a candlelight dinner every night. I can even imagine that it would seem romantic if the kids weren't at the table with us (!)UPDATE TWO YEARS LATER: Still using them! They still work and we still love them!
