I am so glad I purchased this iSonic "Professional Grade" Ultrasonic Cleaner with plastic basket. I mainly use it for making Liposomal Vitamin C, and the iSonic dealers not only shipped it fast, but gave me EXCELLENT customer service, even telling me tips on making my Liposomal Vitamin C. I dont mind that the cycle only goes for 480 seconds ... I just use 3 cycles for 24 minutes to make 1 quart of Liposomal C for the whole family! This Professional model has a "comercial grade" stack transducer which is twice as strong as the cheaper smaller units... so this unit will LAST LONGER, Clean better, and make a Liposomal C with smaller particles, which would increase Absorbtion of the Vitamin C even more ! The plastic basket not only cuts down on the noise, but it lifts the glass jar I use to make Liposomal C off the bottom of the stainless steel tank just enough to create an even stronger rippling of Ultrasonic action which you can visibly see in the jar, even if the water in the tank only covers about Half of the Jar! Its amazing! Here is the Best way to make Liposmal Vitamin C. Fill the iSonic Ultrasonic Cleaner with the plastic basket in place, half way with cold water (Do not use the Heater) , Pour your blended Vit. C and Lecithin mixture into a 1 Quart glass jar (I use a mason jar, but iSonic sells Glass Beakers) ... and place it in the center of the tank above the transducer. Run for 3 cycles of 480 seconds stirring the mixture occasionally, and watching the temp... if the mixture starts getting warm, add ice cubes in your water bath , and you're done ! Do not run for more than 30 minutes continuous, it can overheat the transducer, even the cool water in the tank gets warm, and the less heat, the better for your Liposomal Vitamin C....If I dont see ripples, I just move the jar around until it starts showing ripples from the Ultrasonic waves. This iSonic has a silicone seal between the stainless steel tank and the plastic housing, but you should never fill it to where the liquid is near the line where the tank meets the plastic. I only fill my tank about 1/2 -2/3 Full with Water and its so easy to clean, just wipe it dry with a towel. I highly recommend this iSonic P4820 Ultrasonic cleaner with plastic BasketBought this for cleaning brass casings for reloading. My son just started reloading and we wanted an economical and quick way to clean ammo brass. Tumblers are good but they can take hours to work effectively so we decided to try ultrasonic cleaners. There are models out there made for the major ammunition manufacturers with their name on it. Past experiences have taught me that in a lot of cases you wind up paying a premium for that sheet of plastic film with the name on it and the colored injection molded plastic in the company colors. Thanks to all before me that reviewed this cleaner on helping me decide on this machine. I was not disappointed in this purchase. This cleaner did a great job on ammo casings. It removed all of the fouling through out the case. I ran it for about a combined 10 minutes and the brass was clean. The unit heats very well and that helps a lot in the cleaning. I balked at paying the high prices of the cleaning solution for cleaning ammo brass. I'm glad I did!!! There are numerous articles on line about homemade cleaning formulas. The one I used was 1 quart of hot water, 1 cup of white vinegar, 1 tbsp of table salt and 1 tbsp of dish soap. I doubled it because I had about 200 pieces of mixed brass. So that's 2-1/2 quarts of solution and it was at the max fill level. I used hot tap water to help the heater get up to temperature quicker. Instructions say that the unit will heat up to 145 degrees, didn't measure that but it was plenty hot. We won't mix brass anymore though, the .380, .40 S&W and 300 AAC cases were able to fit into one another and that interfered with the cleaning of some of the cases. Our mistake.I highly recommend this unit to reloaders.UPDATE: Don't use the recipe for do-it-yourself cleaning solution I included above for nickel plated brass. It severely tarnishes the nickel plating that won't ever return to original no matter how much you tumble it. Still does an awesome job of bare brass.I like this product, but would have liked an instruction manual that actually told you how to set the timers. The 'manual' if you want to call it that tells you to set the timer, but does not tell you how to do that. So I just push some buttons until it comes on then I have to do it again every 3 minutes because I don't know how to set it for longer. I can handle that, I guess. Once day I will try to find a manual online, but rehitting the start buttons every 3 minutes is not a big deal.I use it for cleaning my blades and shears in my grooming salon. I absolutely love the job it does. My blades look like brand new and the liquid that I dump out afterwards is gross! This is after manually cleaning my blades & shears, so all that yuck in the liquid after cleaning is stuff that did not get cleaned off manually, which wears down the blades and shortens their life. Once I have cleaned them with the iSonic cleaner they cut like new. I have saved so much on unnecessary blade sharpening & repair bills.Would I recommend it to others? YES!I used to clean my reloading brass and my guns, it cleans fast and inexpensive compared to my old wayI was looking for a budget ultrasonic cleaner with built in heater, with a tank big enough to hold motorcycle carburetor bodies. I also didn't want to pay too much. The maximum liquid level of the 4820WPB is about 2 inches, so I have to flip larger items over to get full cleaning. On the plus side the unit is very quiet and the automatic heater shutoff is helpful. The basket is full depth and the handles are above the maximum liquid level so it's easy to remove. Based on a review of a similar model I took the precaution of filling the gap between the metal bath and plastic housing with silicone sealant, to avoid any liquid getting into the mechanism. Overall I'm very happy since the jump to the next size bath is a huge jump in price.
