We have these on all of our exhaust fans throughout the house and they save us a lot of energy. Before installing them, members of the family would sometimes turn the bathroom fans on and walk away. This would result in the fans staying on potentially for hours before anyone noticed. Now they just select a time and the fan turns itself off automatically. The fan timer wires in easily, but needs a fairly deep box, since it is a four wire timer and it connects via wire nuts as opposed to screws. Our original construction electrical boxes were all deep enough. The wires are all labeled to tell what they needed to be connected to. The timer requires both a neutral and a ground. Depending on the number of wires running in and out of the box, you may need a couple of larger wire nuts. The supplied wire nuts are meant for just a couple of wires. I needed red wire nuts for line (hot) and neutral.
