Supplied with a molded ivory time dial plate designed to fit either toggle or decorator style switch plates; single or multi-gang with no field modifications required to fit either style switch plate. Time saving "up front" terminal connection with teeter type terminals and an easy "press-on" knob design ensure quick and easy installation.

These aren't as good as my old Intermatic timers -- I've used them for decades. The dial cover no longer fits over standard oval-head wall plate screws -- you have to substitute your own flat head screws. The knob no longer has the metal shaft insert, it's all plastic, and is now very tough to push on all the way on. When you do, the knob sits too high on the timer shaft, leaving an unattractive 1/8" gap at the dial cover. Heaven help you if you need to remove the knob later, the best way is to use two paint can openers -- the 4" long metal ones with a pry tip on one side and a bottle opener on the other. Placing one on either side of the knob base (there is plenty of room due to the 1/8" gap) pull evenly and hard, hoping the plastic knob doesn't break. At least the timers seem to function as they should.Nice switch. these things stop working after a while, but you can open it up, give it a little oil andit's fixed.Bought two of these timers for our bathroom exhaust fans. My parents have Intermatic timers and they are quality: work well and are reliable. I had purchased a Woods brand from the store but they looked chinsy and had wire leads pre-attached instead of the robust screws on the Intermatic. The install wasn't as simple as I hoped due to the holes for the switchplate mounting screws. The holes in the timer switch are not threaded so you are making the threads in the plastic housing as you twist in the screws. Was more difficult than you'd hope and I used the supplied screws rather than mar up my screw plate, color matched screws. I used a 6-32 tap on the second switch to pre-form the threads and obviously this eased screw installation.I have used these Intermatic spring loaded timer switches to control my bathroom fan for a long time. This will be the third switch I have installed (spoiler alert); they don't last forever, but do last for years. (I can't remember when I purchased the last one, but I would guess it's around 5 years or so). I fully expect this one to follow in its predecessors footsteps. There are two small differences between the current and past models; 1. the wires feed in from the left side of the switch. This required changing the placement of the light switch to the other side of the two-gang box. 2. This switch indicates a "hold" position after the one hour mark. I presume this means it will stay on until manually shut off.If my expectations of very good performance is disappointed, I will post a follow-up. If not, I can certainly recommend this Timer.1. Black nut stem exposed on side. 2. Internal knob action is sloppy need to give over movement to turn timer. 3. Cover screws very tight into plastic housing and damage screws (others). 4. It is way overpriced.Easy to install, not too loud ticking down but.....faceplate with graphics does not fit well to existing wall plate. faceplate is gapped to wall plate surface and the screw holes are slightly visible. Also this faceplate will not sit flush within the standard rectangular opening of a decorator plate. It is too large and also must sit on surface which is odd. so it works well just does not look real finished for a guest bathroom. This product fits and works perfectly. Intermatic the premier US manufacturer in this space. The mechanical elements of the device are robust and will service the customer for many years.I have the Intermatic FD60MH 60-minute Spring Loaded Wall Timer wired to a towel warmer. It works quite well, but is a bit noisy. You can hear it ticking 10 feet away. It seems very well made and will probably be quite reliable over the years. Since the timer uses a spring mechanism, it does not draw power to use it, or in standby mode, as some digital timers do. The small form factor of the timer allows it to be installed in a double wall plate - with another switch next to it.The timer appears to work well, except for the "hold" feature. All attempts to make this work failed. I hesitated to overly force the knob to get the feature to work due to some reports of the knob breaking, or internal damage resulting. The unit is currently installed, and returning it is not possible.Works well, this brand is a long time supplier of quality timers.
