My 29 year old Sub-Zero 532 freezer section is cooling like new again down to 0 degrees F. This is the second time I've needed to replace the defrost timer as they seem to last about 10 years. Note, it's easy to change but If the freezer or refrigerator is room temperature you will probably need to hold the door closed for an hour or so before it creates a strong vacuum and seals properly. I just place a chair against the door with a protective towel over the back and some weight on the seat. Once everything gets cold, the door gets drawn tight and requires effort to open like new.
