If you have an old speed queen washing machine, this is probably the most likely part to fail. When my washing machine tried to agitate, the motor would only make a loud humming sound. Turned out the contacts in this timer switch were worn and sending insufficient voltage to the motor. This new timer got it back up and running for a good price and I didn’t have to call a technician to replace it. Always unplug the machine when doing repairs.
