I saw this on the Amazon site and noted in particular the review stressing its usefulness for those of an ADHD persuasion, so snapped it up in a eureka moment. Now that I have it a few points.Yes it is very useful around the house both for cooking and as a pomodoro timer, especially if you might be out of earshot of your regular kitchen timer. Would be useful in a garden. It seems to be robust as clockwork timers go. I am a bit of a fan of any such devices that do not require batteries (I use a clockwork wristwatch, for example) and while I couldn't call this green (all plastic body) it's a reasonable compromise (not prepared to fall back on an hourglass just yet). It has a magnèt as well (why?). Nice shape and colour.Niggles? Well, it has a VERY LOUD tick. I can get used to that but, if I do the alarm can be a bit of a shock when it sounds. But I can't get over the price 2-3 times the price of similar standing timer sans loop and string (the string itself was disappointing, already replaced with a lanyard I had lying about). But I rather wish that I'd simply applied a loop to one of my other timers and used that with my lanyard. (I may make a backup anyway, using a bit of epoxy resin and yet another lanyard)Overall, I'm glad to have it, I am using it to good effect, it does a good job, but, as the cheapskate that I am, I still feel that I could have considered my purchase a little more carefully. My bad.
