This in-wall mechanical timer is a perfect fit for replacing a toggle switch. It is particularly useful for bathroom exhaust fans which you'd like to leave running after you exit the room, but don't want it to run forever. So long as you know where your circuit breaker is, installation of this timer is straightforward and simple. I have one of these in each bathroom in my house, plus one on each of two fireplaces. The only problem I've ever had over fifteen years of home ownership is when I underestimated the maximum duration of on-time I would want for my fireplace. Fortunately, the 30-minute timer found a new home in a bathroom, and I replaced it with a 60-minute timer.
