What's sets this hour meter apart from the competition is the USER replaceable battery.Yes, the battery is good for 5 to 10 years but I really appreciate the fact that I don't have to throw this product away when the battery gives out. The unit takes a CR2477 battery, available on Amazon, (it comes with one of these batteries installed).In my application, I'm keeping track of hours on air filters. Using a 24 volt AC transformer I send this signal to the hour meter. For most applications, you only use two terminals, just send AC or DC power to those terminals and the timer functions. There are two other terminals available for reset. The timer will display the hours whether it is receiving a signal or not, (that's what the internal battery does). A terrific alternative to a mechanical hour meter. One button press, and the meter will reset to zero.Excellent instructions are included.Not made in China. Made in South Korea.
