If I could design fake candles - this would be it. They look and feel like real wax candles - like you stick your fingernail in the wax, and it feels like a candle. And the fake flame far enough down inside the candle that you do not see the bulb, but just the glow. I also really love the soft amber light. It is lovely. And as for functionality: I love the multi-function remote, so I can change the flickering from solid to flame, brighter or softer and set the timer to 2,4,6 or 8 hours. And they come on every day at the same time, and default to whatever timer I last used. So yes, my beautiful candles light themselves every day at dusk and all I have to do is enjoy them. BTW: this is my third set of these candles. I bought some for church a few years ago, then bought myself some of the 3x6 and finally the 3x5 just for some variety in height.
