I've owned two classic DIG drip irrigation timers for about 12 years, and one finally bit the dust (seems to be an electronics failure). The DIG Bohe-BT timer had the features I wanted, especially the ability to read and change timer settings on my phone from inside my house instead of being out in the dark wearing an LED headlamp and trying to read the old timer's LCD screen and remember what buttons to push. The DIG Bohe-BT timer just shipped in a bubble pack, but its hard plastic package protected it. It worked great right out of the box, was easy to set up, and didn't leak internally. I use Quick Connect faucet fittings such as these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GNPJQL4/, and I fitted my DIG timer at its inlet and outlet with such fittings after wrapping the male components of each port with Teflon tape.I had no trouble with BT reception. For those complaining, your smartphone is 50% of the reception equation. My phone is an iPhone 14 Pro Max. I can easily connect with the DIG timer at ~the 50 ft line-of-sight distance advertised, and from within my house, sitting on my bed about 15 feet away, I can be connected through a glass window even though the timer is outside with an exterior brick facade and interior sheetrock in my direct "line-of-sight." If I go to the window with the timer 5 or 6 feet to the side on the exterior brick wall, my reception jumps to 3 or 4 bars and even more if I open the metal window blinds on the window. So anyone having trouble with BT reception might want to look into getting a better smartphone the next time around.Perhaps since I have years of experience with the original DIG timer, the timer was easy to set up using the iPhone DIG BTT app. I didn't have to look at the instructions at all. I'm still on my first timer run but I have a couple of nit-picking comments about the app. With the original timer's LCD display screen, it was easy to tell how much time was still left in a run. With the BTT app's schedule overview, you get a diminishing run bar and a minuscule graphic of when the run will end. Since the app has all the power of a smartphone to use, I'd appreciate the ability to get more visible and precise readouts of how much time is left in the run and exactly when it's going to end. I thought I missed my programmatic start time and deliberately triggered a manual run 5 or 10 minutes later that will run that much longer beyond my programmed end time (set by run duration). But the display doesn't tell me whether I'm running the programmed span or whether the run was triggered manually. Why have all the potential for precision in a smartphone app if you don't fully use it?! Since the app can be upgraded and hopefully knows whether a run is programmed or manual, there's hope for app improvement in the future, I guess.I'm very pleased with my purchase. I'll update my review if I encounter any durability problems. I like the water psi and the temperature limit specs since my DIG Bohe-BT timer will have to endure the South Texas summer blast furnace heat, and the city I live in has its not very well-controlled water pressure ups and downs. We'll see how it goes... A timer that just doesn't flick open its valve but progressively turns itself on would be a further desirable improvement as I've blown out several pressure-reducing valves in my Toro drip hoses by older timers suddenly flicking on and letting high-pressure water repeatedly bang into plastic pressure-reducing valves. Thanks, DIG, for considering that as a possible improvement for future timers.
