This was a fantastic purchase; it made an unused wood fireplace a functional decorative focal point in my living room, It works with another company's trim frame.(look for that review). It has provided warmth and has a thermostat and timer. The "flames" decorative colors are lovely; you will quickly choose a favorite. The smooth glass front keeps dust out and is easy to clean. Installation is easy, but the crystals need to be put in, and that was the most challenging part and requires 2 people as specified on the directions. AFTER the 6 screws are removed 2 on each side, and 2 on the top, the front glass needs to be lifted up and away. The crystals can then be placed inside; do not lay it flat afterward. we had to put a small piece of wood under the insert to lift it up so it was not resting on the bottom edge of the glass.
