Even with all the nay sayers I went ahead and bought this item. It seems no single kitchen timer had perfect reviews. Many are nit picky like the flashing light on this unit. It is not distracting at all. Most of the time I'm not even in the same room when it goes off but if I am say in the kitchen, the flashing just reminds me I still have something on the timer. The dual clock/timer with consecutive timer ability is great. When not using the second timer it display the current time of day. The top display only does timing. The buttons are intuitive. The magnets are sufficient to hold it on the verticle face of my range hood. I've had it for several weeks now and have not knocked it off. The beeping can be set to off, level 1 and level 2. I leave in on the loudest setting and I can hear it all around the house. The blinking starts slow at the beginning as it gets to the last minutes it gets faster then in the last minute it flashes red and even faster until if goes off then will stop beeping after 1 minute if you don't cancel it out. It will also count up if you like but it will not do an alarm sound as it has no setting for that operation. Another really good thing about this timer is it is completely flat on the bottom. So when you stick the magnet to a vertical surface and press the buttons it doesn't wobble and fall off. It stays put and you can set it with one hand. No clip on the back to make it wobble. It also has a flip over stabilizing foot if you want to stand it on the counter. It would fall over as easy. The timer does sit perfectly vertical though with no angle upward so it could be a little harder to read if you tower above your kitchen counters. All in all I am very happy with this time and glad I ignored the negative reviews.
