The blanket is nice and soft and I like the pattern. The heat is good; I use 3 bars (out of 6) on the display and that's all I need. Any higher and my lap begins to roast.This is an "old style" blanket, so the wires can be felt and they are separated, leaving small areas that have no heat. For me, that's a total don't care, because they are close enough to each other that it works. The advantage to "old style" is that you don't have a massive brick of a power converter to haul around. This has the small controller that fits in one hand and weighs nothing.As with all electric blankets, how long it lasts is the big question - so far, so good after a few months.
